14th Amendment: American citizenship meant for former slaves, not ‘gate crashers’ – Trump

Highly political judges want us to stop DOGE – Trump blasts court orders

United States President Donald Trump has suggested that the 14th Amendment right to American citizenship never had anything to do with modern-day “gate-crashers”.

Trump insisted that it had everything to do with granting citizenship to former slaves.

The President stated this in a post on Truth Social, claiming that the US founding fathers are “spinning in their graves” at the idea that the country could be taken away from its people.

He wrote: “The 14th Amendment Right to American Citizenship never had anything to do with modern-day ‘gate-crashers,’ illegal immigrants who break the law by being in our country. It had everything to do with granting citizenship to former slaves. Our Founding Fathers are ‘spinning in their graves’ at the idea that our country can be taken away from us. No nation in the world has anything like this. Our lawyers and judges have to be tough and protect America!”

DAILY POST reported that after his inauguration last month, Trump signed an executive order ending birthright citizenship in the country.

The order would end birthright citizenship for the children of parents who are in the US illegally.

However, a federal judge, Leo Sorokin, in Boston on Thursday blocked the executive order.

The ruling came three days after US District Judge Joseph Laplante in New Hampshire also blocked the order and follows similar rulings in Seattle and Maryland.
