Hookup responsible for high rate of missing girls – Police

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has presented cheques worth over N51 million to 30 families and next of kin of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2023.

The cheques were drawn from the welfare schemes of the Force, including Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Schemes, totalling N51,539,621.45.

Presenting the cheques, Danmamman stated that the initiative aims to provide financial support to the families of deceased personnel.

Danmamman acknowledged the hazardous nature of police work and emphasised the Force’s commitment to supporting the families of fallen colleagues, stating that “a loss to one is a loss to all.”

He assured the families that they are not alone in their grief, as the command also shares their pain. He explained that the cheques symbolise the compassion of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, as the welfare schemes are designed to support the families, with him standing in on behalf of the IGP to issue the cheques.

He further noted that the Nigeria Police Force understands the pain and suffering of the bereaved families and remains committed to demonstrating compassion and support through these welfare schemes.

The Commissioner of Police then offered prayers that the cheques would bring solace to the families and serve as a source of comfort rather than confusion.
