Personal Information

Full name, phone number, email address, bank account details, Bank Verification Number (BVN), government-issued ID, and residential address — as required by our banking partner Fincra for KYC compliance.

Authentication Details

Login credentials, one-time passwords (OTPs), and your secure 6-digit transaction PIN.

Device & Technical Data

IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

Usage Data

Task activity, engagement history, wallet transactions, virtual account funding, bill payments, and all app interactions.

Transaction & Reward Data

Reward redemptions, withdrawal requests, virtual account details issued by Fincra, and bill payment records.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the GOB platform:

  • Create and manage user accounts securely.
  • Authenticate users and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Facilitate reward redemptions, bill payments, and withdrawals through third-party payment infrastructure providers including Fincra.
  • Facilitate access to virtual account utilities issued and managed by third-party providers in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Process bill payments — airtime, data, betting funding, and utilities.
  • Deliver services including tasks, promotions, and giveaways.
  • Comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations as required by the CBN.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or platform misuse.

GOB uses Fincra — a licensed financial institution — strictly as a payment infrastructure provider to support reward withdrawals, bill payments, and virtual account utilities. All banking and financial services are provided by Fincra in compliance with CBN regulations.

KYC Compliance

To comply with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and Fincra requirements, GOB operates a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process:

  • Users must complete KYC verification to access reward withdrawals and payment utilities.
  • Required documents may include: Valid government-issued ID, Proof of Address, and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • KYC data is shared with Fincra for regulatory compliance purposes only.
  • Incomplete KYC will limit your access to withdrawal and wallet funding features.

Your KYC data is handled with the highest level of security. It is only shared with Fincra as required by CBN regulations and is never used for marketing purposes.

Fraud Prevention & Account Misuse

For the safety of our users and the integrity of the platform, GOB strictly prohibits the following:

Creating or using multiple accounts for personal gain
Attempting to exploit system vulnerabilities, tasks, or reward mechanisms
Funding wallets with stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized money
Using automation, bots, or artificial engagement to complete tasks
Misrepresenting identity, referrals, or task actions
Attempting to circumvent KYC requirements

Consequences of Misuse

Any user found engaging in prohibited activities may face:

  • Immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
  • Freezing or reversal of fraudulent transactions and forfeiture of all earnings.
  • Reporting to Fincra and relevant Nigerian regulatory authorities.
  • Legal action where necessary under applicable Nigerian law.

GOB reserves the right to review and investigate any suspicious activity to protect the platform and its users at all times.

Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access & Correct

Access, update, or correct your personal information at any time through your account settings.

Request Deletion

Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and regulatory obligations that may require us to retain certain records.

Withdraw Consent

Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

File Complaints

File complaints with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or relevant data protection authorities.

Transaction History

Request a full history of your transactions, task completions, and account statements at any time.

Delete Your Account

Delete your account via app settings or by contacting support. Full data removal takes up to 15 days. Certain financial records are retained as required by banking regulations.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to:

  • Provide you with our services as an active GOB user.
  • Meet regulatory and compliance requirements — CBN regulations require financial record retention for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Resolve disputes, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with Fincra's banking infrastructure and data requirements.

When you delete your account, GOB will remove your non-financial personal data within 15 days. Financial transaction records required by regulation will be retained for the legally mandated period, then securely deleted.

All sensitive operations are protected with bank-grade encryption during transmission and at rest.

OTP & Secure PIN

Two-factor authentication via OTP and a secure 6-digit transaction PIN protect every financial action.

Only authorized GOB and Fincra personnel with a documented need may access your personal data.

Regular Security Audits

We conduct regular security audits in compliance with CBN and Fincra financial regulations.

Secure Data Transmission

All data is transmitted securely to Fincra's banking infrastructure via encrypted channels.

Fraud Monitoring

Real-time monitoring systems detect and flag suspicious account or transaction activity automatically.

Users are strongly advised to keep passwords, PINs, and OTPs strictly confidential. GOB will never ask for your PIN or OTP via call, SMS, or email.

Children's Privacy

GOB is strictly for users aged 18 and above.

GOB is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. As a platform offering financial utility services, all users must be adults in accordance with CBN regulations. If we discover that a minor's data has been collected, we will delete it immediately and close the associated account. Parents or guardians who believe their child has registered on GOB should contact us immediately at info@gob.ng.

Third-Party Links

The GOB platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or platforms (such as social media platforms used for task completion). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or data handling of any third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external services you access through GOB before sharing your personal information with them.

Fees & Charges

By using GOB, users acknowledge and agree to the following fee structure:

  • Withdrawal processing fees as charged by Fincra per the applicable rate at the time of withdrawal.
  • Virtual account funding fees as applicable under Fincra's current fee schedule.
  • Bill payment service charges for airtime, data, utility, and betting platform funding transactions.
  • Any other fees disclosed in-app or in our Terms of Service at the time of transaction.

All fees are shown transparently before you confirm any transaction within the app.

GOB requests the following Android & iOS permissions to provide a secure, functional, and personalised experience. You can choose to grant or deny these permissions, but some features may not work without them.

Used for inviting friends to the platform, referral programs, and selecting contacts to share rewards.

Biometric Auth

Important: We only use these permissions for the purposes described above. We do not access any data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the GOB app's features. All data collected via these permissions is handled securely and in compliance with this Privacy Policy.
