Gov Zulum reaffirms plan to shut down Bama IDP camp

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has appointed Dr. Babagana Mustapha Malumbe as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor’s Office. The announcement was made shortly after the governor signed the 2025 budget into law. The event took place on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the council chamber of the Government House in Maiduguri.

Dr. Malumbe, who is currently serving as the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, will now assume the role of Deputy Chief of Staff. His appointment positions him to work closely with the Chief of Staff, Professor Isa Hussain Marte, in managing the affairs of the Governor’s Office. The move is seen as part of Governor Zulum’s efforts to strengthen his administration’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.

The signing of the 2025 budget into law marked a significant milestone in Borno State’s governance.

Dr. Malumbe’s appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff underscores his experience and expertise in budgetary and developmental planning. His contributions as Commissioner for Budget and Planning have been pivotal in shaping the state’s fiscal policies.

Governor Zulum expressed confidence in Dr. Malumbe’s ability to excel in his new role. The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to prioritize good governance and accountability. He urged all appointees to remain steadfast in their duties and work collaboratively to meet the aspirations of the people of Borno State.
