Zaria to get seven new Federal Institutions in 2025 budget – Speaker Tajudeen

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, on Saturday announced that the Zaria Federal Constituency will benefit from the establishment of seven additional federal institutions in the 2025 budget.
Speaking during a Ramadan Iftar event in Zaria, Tajudeen stated that the initiative is aimed at reinforcing Zaria’s reputation as a major centre for higher education in Nigeria.

“With the 2025 budget now enacted, we are committed to strengthening the educational landscape of Zaria. Seven new federal institutions will be established to provide more opportunities for learning and skill acquisition,” he said.

He highlighted the institutions to be established, which include the Federal College of Agriculture, the Federal Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Institute, and the Federal Technical College.

Others are the Centre for Management Development, the Technology Incubation Centre, a School for the Disabled (Primary and Secondary), and four new federal secondary schools.

Tajudeen reassured residents that the government remains dedicated to delivering development projects that will directly impact the lives of the people. He also revealed plans to support students through scholarship schemes.

“Funds will soon be released for the scholarships of 2,500 underprivileged students in tertiary institutions, and an additional 4,000 students will be included in the scheme,” he disclosed.

Expressing gratitude to his constituents for their support, the Speaker attributed his achievements in the National Assembly to their encouragement.

“Your support has been instrumental in enabling me to push for policies and projects that benefit our people. I remain committed to delivering on my promises,” he said.

Tajudeen also urged citizens to pray for President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the need for spiritual support in addressing national challenges.

The National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Garba-Datti Babawo, in his remarks, commended Tajudeen for his inclusive leadership style and efforts in fostering unity within the National Assembly.
