How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the GOB platform:

  • Create and manage user accounts securely.
  • Authenticate users and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Facilitate reward redemptions, bill payments, and withdrawals through Fincra (CBN-licensed payment infrastructure).
  • Facilitate access to virtual account utilities issued and managed by Fincra in line with CBN regulatory requirements.
  • Process bill payments — airtime, data, electricity tokens, cable TV, and betting wallet funding.
  • Power GOB Free Store operations including order processing, merchant payouts, and storefront analytics.
  • Deliver services including tasks, promotions, and giveaways.
  • Comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations as required by the CBN.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or platform misuse.

  • All withdrawals are processed via bank transfer through Fincra, subject to verification and processing timelines.
  • Processing fees apply as per Fincra's current rate schedule, shown transparently before confirmation.

Virtual Dollar Card (USD)

  • GOB's virtual USD card is coming soon. You will be notified via the app when it launches.
  • Once live, cards will be funded directly from your GOB NGN wallet via Fincra.

Important Disclaimer

GOB is a reward platform that offers financial utility services through our partnership with Fincra (CBN-licensed). GOB does not provide banking, lending, savings, or investment services. All payment-related features are limited to reward redemption, bill payments, and store order processing facilitated by Fincra. Reward amounts vary by task and are not guaranteed.

KYC Compliance

To comply with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and Fincra requirements, GOB operates a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process:

  • Users must complete KYC verification to access reward withdrawals and payment utilities.
  • Required documents may include: Valid government-issued ID (NIN, Voter's Card, Driver's Licence, Passport), and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • KYC data is shared with Fincra for regulatory compliance purposes only.
  • Incomplete KYC will limit access to withdrawal, wallet funding, and store creation features.

Your KYC data is handled with the highest level of security. It is only shared with Fincra as required by CBN regulations and is never used for marketing purposes.

  • The GOB mobile app does not use browser cookies. Analytics SDKs used in the app do not share your financial data with advertisers.

Fraud Prevention & Account Misuse

For the safety of our users and the integrity of the platform, GOB strictly prohibits:

credit_card_off Funding wallets with stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized money
smart_toy Using automation, bots, or artificial engagement to complete tasks

no_accounts Attempting to circumvent KYC requirements

Consequences of Misuse

  • Immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
  • Freezing or reversal of fraudulent transactions and forfeiture of all earnings.
  • Reporting to Fincra and relevant Nigerian regulatory authorities.
  • Legal action where necessary under applicable Nigerian law.

GOB reserves the right to review and investigate any suspicious activity to protect the platform and its users at all times.

Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide you with our services as an active GOB user.
  • Meet CBN regulatory requirements — financial records must be retained for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Resolve disputes, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with Fincra and CBN banking infrastructure requirements.

When you delete your account, GOB removes your non-financial personal data within 15 days. Financial transaction records required by regulation are retained for the legally mandated period, then securely deleted.

Children's Privacy

GOB is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. As a platform offering financial utility services, all users must be adults in accordance with CBN regulations. If we discover that a minor's data has been collected, we will delete it immediately and close the associated account. Parents or guardians who believe their child has registered on GOB should contact us immediately at info@gob.ng.

Third-Party Links

The GOB platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or platforms (such as social media platforms used for task completion). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or data handling of any third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external services you access through GOB before sharing your personal information with them. This includes Fincra, Sportybet, DSTV, and any other third-party integrations accessed via GOB.

Fees & Charges

By using GOB, users acknowledge and agree to the following fee structure:

  • Withdrawal processing fees as charged by Fincra per the applicable rate at the time of withdrawal.
  • Virtual account funding fees as applicable under Fincra's current fee schedule.
  • Store order commissions of 0.5%–2.5% per completed order depending on payment method chosen by the buyer.
  • Bill payment service charges for airtime, data, utility, and betting platform transactions processed in-app.
  • Any other fees disclosed in-app or in our Terms of Service at the time of transaction.

All fees are shown transparently before you confirm any transaction within the app.

Important: We only use these permissions for the purposes described above. We do not access any data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide GOB's features. All data collected via these permissions is handled securely and in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

Free Store & Merchant Data

When you create or use a GOB Business free store, additional data is collected and processed to power your storefront and fulfil orders. This section explains exactly what that data is and how it is handled.

Data Collected for Store Merchants

  • Store settings: Store name, slug (gob.ng/store/yourname), logo, category, description, hero images/videos, contact details, social links, refund policy, and custom domain (if connected).
  • Products: Product names, descriptions, prices, images, and inventory status.
  • Store analytics: Total visits, deduplicated by IP per store per hour. Visit logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • Orders & earnings: Completed order records, payment method used, commission deducted, and payout history to your GOB wallet.

Data Collected for Store Customers

  • Order information: Name, phone number, delivery address, and items ordered — collected to fulfil the purchase.
  • Cart data: Items added to cart are stored temporarily. Abandoned cart data is automatically deleted after 7 days.
  • Payment: For wallet/GOB Points payments, no additional card data is collected. For bank transfer payments, Fincra processes the transaction. For Pay-on-Delivery, no payment data is collected at checkout.
  • Guest checkout is supported. Guest customers' order data is shared with the merchant for fulfilment only and is not linked to a GOB account unless the customer is logged in.

Merchant Responsibility

When customers place orders through your GOB store, their order details are shared with you as the merchant for fulfilment purposes. As a store owner, you become a data controller for that customer information and are responsible for handling it in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). Do not use customer order data for marketing or share it with third parties without the customer's consent.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When significant updates are made, we will notify you through:

  • An in-app notification or pop-up prompting you to review the updated policy.
  • An email to your registered address if the changes materially affect your rights.
  • An updated "Effective Date" at the top of this page.

Your continued use of GOB following any policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
